Island in the Sky

The fog here has been crazy! I live in a neighborhood called Sky Island and I now know why. The elevation is only about 600ft but it looks much higher. Other than the blurb on our neighborhood website about Walt Disneys friends living here in the 50's, before this neighborhood was here, and filming I thought it was just a pretty name. Now I know why, check out these pictures I took of the Sumner Valley, from the end of our street.

Rain, rain, go away!

We had another big flood here in Washington state. This time it was really bad. Some places had over 1' of rain in 24 hours, that's a lot of water. I took some pictures on my way to work the day after. The Puyallup river was still over it's banks, but as you can see from the mud line it had receded quite a bit. Man am I glad I live on a big hill!

Happy New Year everyone! 2009 holds so much promise, it has to be a better year than 2008.
